Right i know that all you guy's will have heard this question no end of time's but please bare with me as this is the first time that i have had a dvd/rw.
I have just purchased a real kick-ass m/c (he say's hopefully) from aldi...lol...
It's a medion 2.6ghz pentium 4 with 512mb ddr ram and a huge 120gig hard drive...it also has a sony dvd and a pioneer a04 dvd/rw in it.
I have in the past back-up my old psx games with no problems and know all about patching and have used clone, cdrwin with no problems.
But now the fun begins now because i have finally took the plunge and bought the animals....(oop's sorry the little cherubs lol) a ps2 pre-chipped from the local puter fair and would love some advice on backing up the games for it....
Am i right in assuming that i can still use clone to back up the non dvd formats with the same settings as for the psx??
But am totally stuffed when it comes to the dvd format games...wouldn't no where to start or what proggies to use??
I know this has been asked a thousand times before but any info would be greatly appreciated.

Doh....Just read the sticky on ripping and mucho greatful..but would still like to here from any of you peeps as to the best media to use and if you know where to get it at a reasonable price??

Keep using CloneCd for your non dvd games and get either PrimoDvd or RecordNow Max(this is an updated version of Primo). Not sure where you are located but the best media is Ritek and Traxdata. You can get Ritek at rima.com and Traxdata at some of the sites listed here (http://www.psx-paul.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/hardware-media.htm)

Thanks for all your help guy's...
The medion system i've got has got a proggie called 'instant copy' with it and i wondered if any of you guy's had attempted to use it for backing up ps2 games?? (the dvd type)
Apparently the reader on the puter is a sony dvd and the dvd/rw is a pioneer...would i have to use the dvd/rw to read and write???

Yikes. Whatever software came with your burner (and this is a rule for ALL burners), bin it IMMEDIATELY.

Use your Sony to read your disc and the Pioneer to burn. Your Sony will read faster resulting in an overall quicker burn. I don't recall anybody using Instant Copy for dvd games. Just use RecordNow Max. It is a proven winner. You can download the demo here (http://downloads.stompinc.com/files/stpRNM450e_STPD.exe)
