First post here, so hi to everyone
The game is Project Zero Pal UK
I have a Messiah 2 and am using a A05 Pioneer on Shintaro Media
I've made a 1:1 Copy using Nero and the game doesn't seem to want to boot, every now and again it does but it still seems to be spinning too fast like the laser can't read.
I've made about 10 dvd backups in the last few days in which i've had this burner and they all seem to work on this media. A few problems like a skipping FMV sequence but nothing major and all booted first time.
Can anyone sugest the problem?
On a maybe related note the game locks up when i hit tirangle buttom on the orignal dvd?
Is this some type of mod protection?
sorry for the flood of text but i figure the more info the better
Thanks to all replies

What speed are you burning at?

First hint is the FMV skipping that you described on other games....

Try using better media......

Also... Instead of using NERO.....

Use RecordNow Max for your PS2 dvd based games.... There is a tutorial at the top of this forum that shows "exactly" how to use it....

This particular one i burnt at single speed. like i did with kingdom hearts and it was fine, however the others were burnt at 2x.
Could anyone point me in the right direction of some better media in Australia?

Don't know about media in Australia, but you might want to try burning at 2x. Sometimes burning at 1x can overburn your disc. You might want want to give RecordNow Max a try as well, as Nero can have problems with some games. You can download the demo here (http://downloads.stompinc.com/files/stpRNM450e_STPD.exe)

Yep. Contrary to popular opinion, or at first glance common sense... burning 2x or 4x media at 1x is NOT a good idea. Media marked as 1-4x ought to be ok, but I wouldn't risk it. Burn at what the media is rated for.

And don't use Nero. Nero is for data, not games or audio.

Nero works for games but it can have problems with some.
