Hello, I am new to the PS2 scene and was wondering if anyone else has bought a "A Genuine Magic 3.1 Clone" from http://www.modchips.cc/products/ps2/magic3_1/magic3_1.html If you have, how is the chip? Thanks.

Well, originally I didn't mean to pay for the chip (I used PayPal). I had $0.00 in my account, and with a combination of me being an idiot and not knowing, I hit Buy. Apparently it took money from my credit card, and payed for it (ah well). So now I am stuck with a clone, I would rather have the real deal or a messiah 2. I just wanted to know people's opinions/suggestions about a clone. Thanks though for the reply and keep them coming anyone who has a clone or even a magic 2/3. Hopefully everything turns out OK with this chip, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I hope everything works out for you........

I personally wouldn't have a "clone".....

The reliability, workmanship, and functions cannot match the "real deal"....

Thus the difference in price.......

There have been some people that have had great success with clones, but there have been alot of people that have had nothing but HORROR stories when dealing with clones.....

Just for future reference..... In my opinion..... Always buy the "real deal".... Like the saying goes.... You get what you pay for....

I installed a Magic3 clone recently.

It was horrible to work with, a pain in the butt to install...

But in the end, it DID work.

I would have refused to install it, except that it was my friend's little brother. Bleh.

Thank you all for the replies, and I do agree that "you get what you pay for", but I bought the clone by mistake, hopefully everything goes well. I have a friend that does installations and I trust him. Thanks.
