question about an unowkn mod

Ok so I went to this store for a modchip. the guy didn't know what the heck I wanted but I was wonding if any of you could help me, he said his mod chips were unkown brands but at the bottom of the xbox loading screen his said matrix does that mean it was definitly a matrix mod chip? if it was can the matrix 1 play home made soiftware?

When the XBox booted EvoX or a back up, and it said "Matrix inside" its a Matrix.

nah thats not true.
the msg under the boot logo (for example "Matrix Inside") depends on the dashboard xbe. you can even customize that msg.

im running my xbox with a cheapmod, which is a SST lpc chip. but my evox dashboard kept showing "Matrix Inside". this boot msg does not neccesarily mean that youve got a matri xchip in there.

you could always open up the xbox and see what chip is inside it.
