View Full Version : Slowdown in WipEout XL (PS1) on PS2

Hi there

I have a v7 Pal PS2 modded with a Messiah 2.

When I play WipEout XL (USA) the game slows down. Is this due to the Playstation 1 driver or is there another explanation.

Any help appreciated.

What program did you use to burn and what media did you use?

I burned it with CDRWIN on Infiniti media. (ALL my other PSO & PS2 backups are on this media and ALL of them work).

Try using CloneCd and follow the tutorial in the backup procedures post.

Just to let you all know...

I got it wrong initially. I DID burn with CloneCD.

However I reburned the image with CloneCD again and it works fine. Must have been a bad disk I guess...

BTW, does the PS2 play ALL PS1 games flawlessly? and
Does turning on faster loading and smooth textures make ANY difference? I can't see any...

There are some ps1 games that don't work properly on the ps2. You can see the list from the Sony site here (http://www.us.playstation.com/news/consumeralerts/). Don't worry about the smooth and faster loading options. They aren't too useful.
