View Full Version : how do i backup the sims?

I have The Sims for ps2, and as it is on cd-rom, i just burned it in a 1:1 copy, but it didn't work. the game boots, but then its just a black screen.
I have a v4 ps2 with a neo 2.2 if that helps.
How should i backup this game?

Try using Clone cd if your burner is 100% compatible with it. Otherwise you will need to patch it. There are a lot of complications with that game.

Well, I used CloneCd, but my cd burner is kind of old(it's one of those that the max burning speed is 32x, think you can get an idea). How should I patch it?

* Update no.4 on The Sims - I've been told that the +6 Trainer for The Sims fixes the problem people are having with this game. (Booting wise)
* Update no. 3 on The Sims - For people using Gameshark method: Turn on MASTER Codes to get this game to boot up properly.
* Update no.2 on The Sims - I've heard the NUDE patch crashes the game, so nothing that I can do about this one. Go buy a Playboy or something.
* Do NOT email us asking about a FIX for : The_Sims_USA_PS2-KALISTO, We couldn't find any standard EA Patch routines for this game. The executable was huge (50megs?).
Get a better modchip

I read somewhere, u can patch the Sims
Because the patch was like 50 megs!
You need a better modchip

ok if it is pal try disc juggler thats what i used and plays fine on my v4 with neo 2.2 no patches or anything just straight burn

ok i juss recently backed up The Sims....... ok once u have clone cd download this thing from this site and follow the instructions worked perfectly 4 me.......
