let me put it a different way it plays fine here pal machine pal game messiah2
clone_my: The filp top is crap and nobody here with some mod knowledge recommends getting one. You get what you pay for. This is why you will likely get little help.
Good response dust.:)

nice freindly forum then:confused:
this is the first game ive had a problem with so fliptop cant be that bad.........

It actually is a friendly forum. This is why we warn people not to get cheap mods/flip tops....so you don't run into problems.

if no one ran into problems this forum would be empty.
this place is full of people having problems with modchips etc so just because im using fliptop doesnt mean im not entitled to a bit of help.
anyway enough said, i will try somewhere else:D
You are entitled to help, I am just warning you that you problems that arise with these mods are the fault of the mod, so there is no fix except for a getting a new mod. Are you sure it is a pal game?

I never heard of anything like a flip top...
Is this the thing where you take a little chip and stick it in the inside of your ps 2 with 2 connector cables that you have to pull out first and then stick it back in the chip?
I had this crap at first but i changed it into a magic 3 ... a friend of mine had the same problem with thps 4 and this swap magic trick **** ... but at my system everything ran perfekt ... maybe its the version of your ps`? i dunnow .. GO BUY A ****ING MAGIC 3 RIGHT NOW ;)
just fun ...

flip top=
a different cover with a fliptop lid that allows you 2 swap discs over without ejecting used in conjunction with swap magic boot discs...........
anyway its too late now ive bought it now and ill live with the consequences........like i said, havnt had any probs with it up till
thps4,ill just have to play it b&w i guess.
Does the original play in black and white also. or just the backup?

How EXACTLY did you back it up?
What program did you use and what type of media?
Hi, I've just tested Tony hawks 4 on my pal version 7 with no solder and swap magic 2 discs and it plays perfectly so it's a bit of a strange situation.
Maybe the swap magic 2 discs function slightly different depending on the model of the machine?
Ive got a couple of suggestions for you though, first if you're using a RGB scart lead then try replacing it with the standard composite scart cable you get with the machine.
I've noticed that with a couple of the games I have, when playing the backup the developer screens get missed out and it loads the title screen directly (mostly on imports though) although the backup doesnt.
Oh, and try booting your original tony hawks 4 behind the swap magic disc. If that shows up black and white too then you def know the magic disc is at fault......Although on my v7 it plays fine.
Report back your findings......

i am using nero (latest one)to backup and traxdata dvd+r.
i have just backed up timesplitters 2 which plays no problem so i know its not the discs,i also tried alcohol 120 but it still came out b&w.
i dont understand what you mean by booting "behind" the swap magic discs????/
i also thought ther was only one type of lead(the one you get with it).
hope you can shed some light on the matter:D
