I am still trying to convert my DVDs into Divx files.
I used Smart Ripper to unlock the drive and put the Dvd on my HD. But when i use the program dvd2avi, it goes for a couple of minutes then crashes!?

Is there any other programs that wont crash
Also dvdX crashed and still asked for the drive to be unlocked (even though the file was on the HD)
Copydvd also crashed.

Why is it crashing any ideas?

I think i tried that program before it wont let me even view DVD files?

I cant view .vob or .ifo files?!

What type of system you running? Do you have divx codecs installed? This might fix some probs with the other software you have tried.

Well i got a ****ty as 450 Celeron with 128 MD. (could this be the problem)
It was either a ps2 with a Messiah or a new computer.
Can that Ps2 Media Player play SVCDs?
Because i tried to converting dvd to SVCD and that worked.
Maybe ill convert them to SVCD

I do have the lastest divx codec files. They realised a new version the other week.

No, the Reality Player only plays avi/divx.
DL dvd2avi here (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Decoders/DVD2AVI_176.zip) and read the read me file, might help. That is a pretty crappy system you got. That could very well be the problem.

Its pretty **** alrite, I think ill give up and wait till i buy a new system.

I think the computer cant handle, cause sometimes it just locks up.
