CD-R or DVD-R

I just had a modchip installed in my ps2 and im fairly new(to ps2 backup) so i was wondering the games that have compact disc written on them, am i able to use cd-r? and the ones that have dvd disc i use dvd-r? or should i always use dvd-r?

If the games says "compact disc" on it...... Use Clone CD and a cd-r....
If the games says "DVD Rom" on it.... Use RecordNow Max and a dvd-r....

remember if ure burning 2 DVD-R u will need a DVD BURNER
