hi im having great problems backing up dvds with veritas recoed now i can rip and decrypt the files with dvd2one ectect but the simple thing i cannot do is just straight copy the succesful disc after that on the disc to disc bit?
it seems to work ok with ps2 games but it crashes out all the time when i try to do the dvds? it keeps saying the disc may be scratched ect when it is a completly clean and new disc
i have tryed the prassi primo but i cant seem to get it to identify my dvd burner? im using a sony dru500a burner
can anyone help me plz?

What version of RecordNow are you using? If you aren't using 4.5, I suggest you upgrade to it.

yesi am using ver 4.5
also ijust got stomprecordnowmax and that int picking up my dvd wrtier either
any ideas???

Try installing the latest px engine update here (http://eval.veritas.com/downloads/pro/exe/pxEngine358.exe)

i have got the update and ive got it recogising the drive now but it keeps crashing out and saying that there must be fingerprints/dust/scratches on the disc but it is clean?

Have you tried another disc to see if you get the same error?

yup ive tried disc after disc bu tits getting right to the end and then crashing out with about 5 mins of the film left?

Is your drive set as master? Do you have enough space on your hard drive? Have you tried Nero?

yes i have enough space on my hard drive but i dont know if it is set as master how doi check that plz???

I know it says when you are booting your pc.... It will say master or slave.

I had the exact same issue happen me with veritas recored now and my new sony drux500a. I am running win2k.
To avoid this I use the sony drive to read and also to write.
I haven't experienced the problem since.
Also do not use the wizard, just use the copy button, there is an option to reduce the read speed from max to medium. This helps.
Also in options you can choose how many times programme reads a section before giving up and showing error message.
I increased that too.

Only problem I have now is sometimes when I playback a movie -it freezes, I think it is the crappy bulkpaq media I am using.
