why is it when i have my mem card in slot 2 and i want to save on it it wont save says no mem card in slot one there has to be to some use for slot 2 ps1 saved in eather slots

Are you inserting the memory card after you start the game. Most games seem to atuo-detect memory cards at the start. If you insert after that it may not recognize it. I always leave my cards in and they work in slot 1 and 2. Both for loading and saving.
