I'm new to backing up dvd's. I was wondering whats the best program to backup dvd's to svcd's. If its dup-dvd does the one on gamecopyworld give you the full version or alow you to just copy 1/4 of the dvd like the one on dup-dvd's website?
If the dup-dvd site only allows for doing part of the movie, this means it is just a demo and you have to pay for the full version. Gamecopyworld will do the same thing, as they don't do warez.

Hey bighap,
Can you recoment me best and easiest and free software to use to rip my dvd's to vcd's or svcd's to be able to play in a cdrom on my laptop.
Thanks
Are you going to be just playing these on your pc? If so, you should use just burn it as a divx. Look here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/convert)

Actually I wanted them to be compatible both in a cd-rom drive for my laptop and in a DVD-player. Is that what SVCD can do. Or am I wrong and SVCD is only for dvd-players??

if your dvd player plays svcd's, go for it. some only play vcd's. but you can install proper filters for both on your pc.
If you don't know if your dvd player can play svcd, check here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers)
