Any special software needed?

I just got a Poineer DVR-105 with Nero Express software. Will a simple DVD to DVD copy play on a modded(Messiah2) PS2?
Or do i need to buy one of the programs i see in the above tuts.

Thanx. I just wasn't shure if any settings had to be set in Nero. Any "skip errors" or anything. I suppose a simple image copy is all that needed.
