PS2 Problem

Have just reassembled a version 4 that was suffering from worn gears on the laser. Have reassembled it and am getting wierd stuff on screen.

When u switch on it comes up as normal, then u get a little playstation emblem in the middle of the screen followed by a PS2 logo and then a select language screen inviting u to press 'x' .

Controller doesn't move the language and x doesn't select language.

Have never seen this screen b4 and don't know why it would come up.

Any ideas??

It's a version 4 with messiah 1 fitted and was working fine until the laser movement problem.

You shorted something on reassembly.

ah, okay. It probably still shorted then as I put all the info in and then when I reset it comes up with the setup bit again.

Also I noticed that u can't put the set-up info in with messiah switched on, u have to disable it to put info in or language select screen freezes.
