Well, I've been using Recordnow Max 4.5 for ps2 backups, and so far I've accummulated around 15 coasters using Verbatim DVD+R disks (which are supposed to be VERY good -- I'm doubting that now-- too bad they don't sell Traxdata here in U.S.A.). I'm using a Memorex DVD+R writer.
Funny thing is that I have yet to make a coaster with any Xbox backup using Verbatim DVD+R disks. Problem only happens with ps2 games. When writing the image, the disk starts making funny grinding noises and suddenly terminates with an error.
Can't do a test image first since my drive doesn't support that. So I test first with a Verbatim DVD+RW disk....it works perfectly with the DVD+RW disk, so I think I'm ok, but then it fails with the DVD+R disk (which makes no sense to me)!!!
I installed pxengine update 3.58 just in case and still the same result. Also updated to the latest aspi drivers. Tried this on both Windows me and Windows XP (have a dual boot system) with no success.
Unfortunately, can't try Primo dvd. (I can extract tracts from the source disk with Primo, but for some reason, it won't let me select my DVD drive to WRITE images =((
I thought that Recordnow MAX just doesn't work well with my drive, or my drive just doesn't like Verbatim DVD+R. But then I thought how Recordnow max works perfectly when writing xbox isos and using Verbatim DVD+R, so the whole situation makes no sense...writing an iso whether it's xbox or ps2 shouldn't be that different you would think.
