While talking with Headly earlier we discussed the problem with mod chips interfering w/ online game play. Headly mentionted that someone on here used a old serial port connector between the chip and board so he could unplug it, but we both agreed that that wasent needed and that a simple on/off switch on the power/ground wire to the chip should work fine since mod chips are connected in parallel with the board...anyone want to tell us we are wrong?
They already have switches for magic chips. This resolves most if not all freezing problems that the magic chips have.

As a general rule, an on/off switch on either GND or Power will do the trick. If you do just one wire, make the switch on Power but do it good so that the wire doesn't come off and short somewhere.
Doesn't a double reset on Messiah 1 and 2 switch it off anyway??
And yes, a double pole switch on 3.5v and ground is a well known way of switching messiah class mods off.

i tried the switch of the power lead for the magic 3.1. with the switch on, everything worked as expected, but when i cut off the power leading to the modchip, the ps2 would sit on a blank screen. would the ground lead on a switch do any better?
