yes i know this has nothing to do with ps2 games but when i went to devil may cry 2 page for the ar2 codes it poped up d/l java Virtual Machine so i click yes it d/ls 18 kb then nothing happens i do it again and dose same thing and a page pops up saying

but when i goto win update it wont up date says i got bad cd key i never had no problem b4 d/l this b4 i formatted my hd

i cant upload pics on ebay whit this so i cant put pics of things i sell any one here know were i can get this with out going through the web page may be email it to me or some were i could get it thnx.

Did you close your browser then try the site again?

yeah it just says it d/ls it 18k's but it wont d/l and install it brings the java d/l screen back up and i d/l it again then it loads the page but wont let me upload pics and when i go back there another day it will ask to d/l it again

Upgrade to IE6 if you aren't using it already. That might do it.

Later versions of WinXP were distributed without Microsoft Java, something to do with legal issues with Sun. Sounds like your version of WinXP is one of these.

The legal issue, so I am aware, has now been resolved and SP1 (service pack 1) contains the required Java files. Your problem sounds like your version of XP was activated with an invalid key. Windows Update tries to read this as part of the SP1 installation/upgrade and stops the process as a result of this.

This leaves you with 2 options:
1. Purchase a full license for WinXP and re-activate :eek: , or
2. Forget about SP1, download the Java files from the Sun site that work with your pre-SP1 version of XP (I can't remember the URL off the top of my head - I will post it later tonight).

i never had this prob before and i install xp about 5 times on my pc sence i had xp and it never had that prob just untill now i guess mircosoft beffed up the secerity in copywrite

it works great now i can load pics onto ebay again thnx for the help
