Try standing up your PS2 vertically.

And this is with a Magic 2? Your problem is known to happen with the Magic 3.

Why not just switch to a messiah 2 if you got some extra cash lying around, the magic 2 is waay outdated.

You might need to adjust your laser. Have a read here (http://www.ps2.nu/playstation-2-laser-calibration.htm)

It is not a good idea to adjust it yourself if you don't know what you are doing or doesnot have oscilloscope. I did mine and got worst, before it can't only read dvd movies and nowit does not read any dvd/cd..

You don't need to adjust the intensity. You need to adjust either the parallax, or azimuth.

what os the parallax, or azimuth. And how do you adjust it.

Read about paralllax here. (http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37313)

And read about azimuth here. You probably need to register for the forum to get this link to work, but maybe not. (http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=728&highlight=azimuth)

Always keep track of what you are doing.
