Quick question.........Will the playstation 2 play MPEG 1 or 2 OR BOTH?
Also can it play any other format?????

What format of Mpeg 1 and 2? I've seen a vcd player for the ps2, but i haven't gotten it to work, but i haven't tried much. Mpeg2 works if you convert it to dvd format, and burn it on a dvd.

I use TMPGEnc (http://www.tmpgenc.net/) personally. The DVD converting feature only last for 30 days though, so you either have to reinstall it or pay for it. Cinema Craft Encoder (www.cinemacraft.com), LSX MPEG Encoder (https://www.ligos.com/cgi-bin/order?productID=lsxenc35avcdhelp), MegaPEG (http://www.digigami.com/megapeg/), and Main Concept Encoder (http://www.mainconcept.com/mpeg_encoder.shtml) all work great too, so I've heard.
