ps2 and DVD+r

i was interested in purchasing a ps2 mod chip (messiah 2). However i have a dvd+rw drive and am not sure if the ps2 will play backups from a dvd+r disk,

any help appreciated

I haven't used dvd+r's, but I have used dvd+rw's and they worked quite well.

As a general rule of thumb......

V5 or higher PS2's will normally play the +R/+RW format with no problem.

V4 or lower PS2 will normally NOT play the +R/+RW format....

Like I said, this is a general rule..... There have been a few people with V4 or lower PS2's that have had success using the +R/+RW format, but its not very common.....
