I just bought a few blank (no brand) 1x DVD-Rs to burn with my pioneer a05/dvr-105 burner.
So far I have copied Shrek on DVD. I found that although it plays smoothly on the dvd player on my computer, in my playstation the audio skips in some scenes and often it will say unable to read disc and the movie will stop. I have heard that the ps2 laser is very selective about which media it plays smoothly. Is this occasional skipping something that is unavoidable?
Should I look at new media? I know that the knowledgable heads on this forum are directing newbies to the Ritek and Traxdata brands but I have found these hard to come by in my homeland of Australia. Ritek seem to have just set up down here but I think they are making media independently of the Ritek that are making the discs that are winning praise in america etc. I don't know what to do and all I know is I don't want to pay $7AUS to $15AUS for pioneer or verbatim disks (This is around 4 to 8 U.S. dollars each!!) Anyone used Laser or Shintaro disks? These seem to be rife down here...
any help is greatly appreciated :)
peace,
-Dan
