having problem with cdrom

i just mod a 30006 set with blue chip but after moding the disc dun spin
and after i demod the disc still dun spin ??
may i ask anyone here who knows wat is gg on??

3 things spring to mind:

1. While assembling yr PS2 you have not got a lead back in far enough or have nort put it back together quite right.

Solution- Strip it down again and reassemble very carefully ensuring every lead and connection is made perfectly.

2. While you were modding you have soldered two chip legs together or have a splash of solder on part of ps2 that is causing it to malfunction.

Solution- Strip PS2 down and go over the whole motherboard very carefully with a magnifyer or even better a microscope and ensure board is clean of shorts.

3. U have damaged ur PS2 while u were modding it and it will need repair.

Does the PS2 still run DVD games and movies?

I had this prob before on a version 4. When u falshed the PS2 up the drive would twitch twice but not spin up. It turned out that I did not have the ribbon cable coming off the dvd drive to the motherboard in far enough. If its one of those connectiors where u hinge a clamp up then push the ribbon in then u have to hing it right up as far as it goes and then push the ribbon right back in. If u dont lift the clamp up far enough the ribbon only goes half way in and it won't work, check other end of ribbon on dvd drive as well in case this has come loose while disassembling.

the rom does not spin at all
not for dvd too

my another set have this problem of having the fan not spinning at all
