Where's the best / cheapest place to buy the messiah 2 chip in the uk?
Send charlie_ps2 or dust2dust an email. They can hook you up.

It ought to be put on a sticky, after buying the action replay two, the swap magic disks and the non solder mod. I could have brought the messiah chip now.
As I only intend to use uk games should I go for the Hello,
Messiah2 EUR chips?
Do the two guys you suggested live in the UK?
Thanks again m8

You have hit the nail on the head there :D
Yes - dust and charlie both live in the UK, I can personally recommend them, top blokes :)
Yes they both live in the UK. Yes, the EUR will work as well as the Pro. Both of them can do the install for you as well.
I smell another MDV argument.:p

MDV Argument?
I guess its somthing regular posters would understand...
Thanks for your help guys
I'll go to bed dreaming of the money I've wasted, cutting corners again.
Is there any negative points about the Messiah2 chip?
MDV a.k.a. MDV2 believes the no solder is the best chip around and that it boots all games, which isn't true, as you have experienced. There is nothing negative at all with the Messiah 2. It is flawless.

Is it true that the massiah 2 pro does not allow playing dvds from the US?

According to the Messiah2 usage guide, you can play out of region DVD's with the use of Gameshark2/v2, Action Replay2/v2, or DVD region X.
Check out http://www.messiah2.com/ , under the install section. The install guides list the full usage of the M2.
Unless you are asking about a NTSC PS2 playing a NTSC DVD movie. In that case, you just boot the PS2 in DVD mode.
It is true that you cant play US movies on a PAL PS2 chipped with a Messiah 2.....
BUT.... Like always... There is a way around it.....:)
If you have a dvd burner.....
You can copy your original movie and make it region free, then burn it to dvd-r......
Then it WILL play.........:)
