View Full Version : Unreal II Installshield Internal Error
I just got a copy of Unreal II but I got a problem installing it onto my Winxp system. The installshield keep giving me a Internal Failure, Error Number : 0x80040707. Then will I ignore it to continue the installation, the installation will stop at the screen prompting me to enter my install directory. Did anyone have this problem? Pls advice...
I check out the official site already but I can't find the solution to my problem...

A simple Google search turned this (http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?pcode=ALL&articleid=Q104985) up. Check it out, and if you still can't solve it, contact EPic, it's THEIR job to solve these kinds of problems.

Well, you could start by deleting your Temp directory, seems like that could help with Installshield problems. What's your OS ?

Win XP
Do you mean the Temp directory C:/Documents and Settings/Admin/Temp
Or C:/Windows/Temp?
There are two Temp folders that i could possibly delete.

Be more interesting to find out where you got your copy from.

A place here in Australlia called Harvey Norman.
But what does that matter.....how can that help.
The game is an official copy if that's what you're worried about.

I was talking about the first one under "Documents and Settings...etc". I know this can solve some weird Installshield errors, so you might want to try it. Other than that, I have no idea what else to suggest...

Well then, easy.
Take it back to Harvey Norman and tell them the problem.
Ask them to try installing on one of their demo pcs.
If it works then take it home, reinstall your system and try again.
If it doesn't then you may have a bad pressing and request a replacement.
