Need some more info. What version you using, what settings, what media, what burner, what OS, what dvd player you trying to play it in?

Dvd media that is used for movies is usually pressed on to what is called dvd9, or dual layered. The blank media used in dvd burners is dvd5. Naturally a lot of movies won't fit onto one disc. Sometimes removing all the extras and the menu will allow the movie to fit onto one disc.

If you want all your backups on one disc, then dvdxcopy isn't for you, as this program keeps true dvd quality which usually results in using 2 discs. Give dvd2one (http://www.dvd2one.com) a try instead.

Click advanced options. I am guessing that "default burn engine" is selected. If you have an updated version of Nero, try selecting "external Nero program" but don't check the box under this option. If for some reason this doesn't work, try checking the box. Be sure you aren't doing anything else while burning either. You might even want to close or disable running applications as the burning is very sensative. Give these a try and let me know how it goes.

I always use the default burn engine and have never had a problem with it. Just a note.

I don't close anything. I have only used Nero and have had 100% success so I am not even going to bother trying the default burn engine.:D

Use dvddecrypter. It's easier and more stable. Select all of the files to rip off of the dvd. Then when you load it into dvd2one, it will ask which file you want to compress. The movie is the one you want. Which has the longest time beside it.
