Can I use EasyCDCreator5 to make dvd backups? if yes, where can i find some instructions? Thanks a lot. another question, I understand that the Pioneer A05 is the best choice for backing up, but is it ok if I use other brand? I have a Philips. Thank you

EasyCdCreator sucks. PrimoDvd, RecordNow Max, and Nero are all better options. Your Philips should be fine as long as your ps2 version is a v5-v7.

thanks for the reply, but does that mean easyCDCreater doesn't work at all or I just have to play around with it a little bit? also, my ps2 is 15000 model, with origa Mod Chip. does that mean i have to use the pioneer? Thanks a lot.

Is 15000 your SCPH#? Do you have a jap ps2?
I can't tell you the settings required for EasyCdCreator caus nobody uses it. PrimoDvd is downloadable for free here (http://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk/Downloads.htm). You can find a tutorial for it there as well.

Easy CD Cremator :p is a POOR excuse for a burning program (AND I even have it....)

Either use RecordNow Max, Primo DVD, or Nero (preferrably one of the first 2)......

Is your Philips a DVD+R/+RW burner? (Or does it burn -R/-RW dvds)

I'm unsure how well the Jap 15000 PS2's play the +R/+RW format. Charlie_PS2 has one, maybe he can tell you how well they play it......

Most newer PS2's will play the +R/+RW format, BUT...... The -R/-RW format is easier to read, so it will play in a PS2 that won't play the +R/+RW discs..... (Most of the time.....)

Thanks a lot for the replies. yeah, my PS2 is the Jap version and 15000 is the SCPH#. and the burner is -R/-RW, the reason why I ask about the Easy CD Creator is that I don't have the burner, I have to use the lab computers which i don't have access to install any progam, and EasyCDCreator is what i'm stuck with. Anyway, I guess I'll try to think of some other way. Thanks a lot for helping though.

Well if that is your only option/access to a dvd burner it wouldn't hurt to experiment with different settings and a dvd-rw disc. I havn't heard of anybody making a successful backup using Easy Cd Creator, but hey it's worth a try.

Easy coaster creator is good for just that, creating coasters :)
