Hey,

i recently got my ps2 chipped (v3) with a messiah 2. I got it back and it wasnt working well so i sent it back and have just got it back again. I am having major problems with it and have spent too much money so i need help!

When you press the reset button to turn it on, often the eject button wont turn on at all and the ps2 wont turn on. There is a clear difference in noise when it turns on as normal and when it doesnt work. The green light stays on but the screen flicks black then it resturns to as if it was turned off.

Occasionally it works, when i start playing the game it suddenly decides to power off. It also power offs when you put in a memory card etc whilst the ps2 is on.

It gets worst and worst so you have to leave it for ages until you try it again. I dont know what to do. Any suggesitons?

PLEASE HELP!

Jonny

That is not normal m8 & def needs to go back to ur chipper!

When you say you have spent too much money, have you bought it by post? If so a lil bit of postie ruff & tumble is probably the cause!

Could be wires touching because they aren't gklued down. So they flex and the soldered ends touch each other ow and again depending on the weather - sort of thing.

It''ll be a bad install or damage intransit as Yorkie said.

I really wish i had of looked around more before i chose to chip it with mrmodchips! a lesson learned! My ps2 could be used for spares or something!

Don't worry m8 ur not the first to fall for him (or his m8s).

From the probs u have described I don't think ur PS2 is fubar, it just needs a lil bit of attention. Tell us where you are in the UK & we'll put you in touch with somebody locally who you can trust.

your best bet is make a journey to norwich(arrange it with me),bring your ps2 i take look most likely a quick repair on the install £20

if ps2 is gone then we can sort something out

without seeing ps2 boxed as new v7 all leads and u leave the messiah 2 in there, plus £170 i chip u a new ps2 with m2 pro you pick up norwich or plus £20 nextday insured postage

I hate giving Dust a hard time especially when he is being so kind to you!

But if you're in Surrey and I and my famous mate round the corner are in Berkshire and Dust is in effing Norwich it's a no brainer!

I personally find physical violence works in these scenarios. If somebody rips me off then distance is no object!

right,

because v3's etc r rubbish from the sounds of things = not many will work on them and also i heard they find it harder to play some backups etc is it worth me getting a new v7 m2 from dust?

wot r your thoughts. cause if u tried repairing myne and then found out it couldnt be repaired i would have wasted more money sending it etc, or even if it was repaired i may not be able to play some backups apparently.

what r the prices then on a part exchange with a V3 badly chipped. are there other ways i can get this cost down as well??

get back to me.

Sony will part ex damaged machines. The cost is around £60-70. Beware tho, they send you a reconditioned unit back not a V7!

If peeps with a V3 (probably V4 as well) want their machines chipped, ur best selling them & buying a new one. Sony havn't created Tonka toys here!

the v3 laser is mostly very weak
would have problems reading dvdr even if chip install was good
normally better brands of dvdr are the only ones that will play

your best bet is a new v7 (pity u not ask before wasting your cash

v3 is worth nothin to me even if i get it fixed who wants to buy a old v3 with nearly dead laser

Have you had a good look at the cable from the memory card to the PS2. it might have been damaged by getting caught or trapped by a screw when replacing the cover.
