SONY DRU-500A, Primo DVD Help required or any solution for PS2 Back up on this drive

Newbie here, just splashed out on Massiah chipped PS2 and Sony DRU 500A. I am yet to achieve successful PS2 back up and i would appreciate any help at all. I looked at sticky fingers guide but have two problems with those methods.

1) Primo DVD will not recognise sony writer on first screen even after patch installed. Anyone solved this ?

2) Only have Record Now DX and not Record Now Max, can this be used or not ?

I have also tried CD Clone and Latest Nero (via Copy DVD wizard) and produced coasters. Can I use either of these, if so what settings.

I also have DVD2One and DVD X Copy.

Oh and i'm using expensive Infinity with deep purple Ink Wright dye DVD - R.

RecordNow DX works fine. It's all I use. You can even just choose "make exact copy" and it will do everything. Works flawlessly for me.

For the Primo error, d/l the latest PX Engine update from here (ftp://eval.veritas.com/downloads/pro/exe/PxEngineUpdate342.exe)

Thanks, have downloaded tutorials and will try nero method.

The PX engine update has changed nothing. Primo DVD v2.0 refuses to recognise my Sony DRU-500a and defaults to my Rioch CDRW drive. The opening screen drop down arrow offers no other drive options!
