What determins the behavior of the buffers while burning in CLoneCD?

The other day I was doing some archiving of several of my new game CDs and I noticed that while burning, the main and sub buffers were acting like I have not seen them before.

First some info.

Duel 2.2GHz Intel Xeon system with XP Pro as the OS.
1GB ECC RDRAM
Burner is the new liteon 52x24x52 with the latest Firmware version my reader is the Liteon LTD-166S with the latest firmware.
Both burners are confirmed to be in mode UDMA 2.
Current version of CloneCD is being used.

This what I noticed...
As of the other day I noticed that when I copy "on the fly" the buffers fill to 100% but depending on the disk that I am burning the buffers do not stay at 100% during the entire phase.
Typically during the reading phase off of the DVD drive it fills the buffers then just as it starts the actual writing phase on the CDRW the buffers will do one of several things... ethier the buffers will empty imeadiately, or they will stay in the 90-100% range for a peroid, like from 5% to 65% of the total process then it will drain down to the 0% and stay that way until the burn is completed.
I had one CD that did stay at the 90%-100% buffer fill for the whole process but it was just the one...

Now I wouldn't be asking this question except I can't remember exactly but it seems to me that the last time I did a lot of this type of thing the buffers were full all of the time not just part or none....

But since I can't remember it exactly it makes me wonder if I'm recalling it right.

So in a nut shell is the above behavor that I described that I am seeing now from my burning process normal or not?

I can say that at first I was seeing longer burns but after I did a few TS things and tweaking to make sure things were as they should be now my times are right on what I expect... And AFAIK I am not making any costers so it appears that everything is normal, its just that it sure looks weird and out of place seeing the buffer bars below 100% or 0% during the buring phase...

Please shead some light on me here,

Did you have to be such a smart ass?

I posted here and at the other forum at the same time.

I wasn't getting an answer there so I thought I would seek help here... guess I was wrong, this is not obviously a help site... :(

Seeeee yaaaaa,
