I've read quite a few posts about the different types of DVDr and which ones are best, I'd like to find a good place to buy some from in the US, but I can't seem to tell by the ads whether they are good Riteks or if they are like the crap ones I have now (Ritek 1s, which seem pretty good for DVD movies, but for PS2 games, i've yet to make one that was Playable without being choppy and freezing up at various times). Can someone please point me to a good place to buy them from and who sells the good riteks?

Do your Riteks have dark purple bottoms? If so the problem isn't with the media. The problem is most likely then with your burning method or your laser needs to be cleaned on your ps2. I get my Riteks off ebay. Work like a charm.

advdinfo is a usefull program for identifying whing ritek dvdr u have

its basically like reading the atip of a cdr

I used that program to find out that they were Ritek 1's :( Which I heard were not ver good. The bottoms are purple but towards the edges (On every single one of them) there are little dots almost like bubbles in the dye or something, it doesnt look right..

Anyway, does anyone have a link to a site that sells some good quality DVDRs? I'm a little reluctant to buy anything yet because I may end up with exactly what I have right now unless I know what they are selling up front. Thanks for your time.

Yeah those sound like crap media. rima.com (www.rima.com) sells the good ones and so does the user prestoshoppercom on ebay(this is where I got mine)

Just to add, I am now using "Bulkpaq" Gen 4 Green.
ps2 ver 7 (un-modded) dvd plays them
ps2 ver 7 (Messiah 2) plays all games perfect
as an added bonus works on every dvd player they have
been tried on, and thats quite a few
