Hey, i have ripped a DVD and it's to big to fit on a DVD-R. How can i make it smaller?

Take out the extras and video streams you dont use and such using infoedit. If it is still too big you will have to encode to lower quality.

How big is it? if its not too big dvd2one does a great job and only takes 15-20 mins.

I have ripped all the video out and the audio which is in the same files and it's 5.55 Gig.

And it has ripped them into .vob files or something

use dvd-decrypter in ifo mode and rip the movie, then use dvd2one to recode to 4.36 and burn.

eyup mate goto www.dvd2dvd.com and they talk you through the whole process, sounds like you need to use rempeg or cce

Using that DVD Decrypter is just going to be the same size as what i used yesterday to rip it i think, it looks to be that way anyway

have you used the bitrate calculator which is on that site, that determines the final length of the movie, make sure you tell it to calculate for one disk

Well that site just goes to some wired site that looks like it has nothing to do with DVD.

What does this birate calc do?
Does it tell you a birate to set it on so it will fit onto a dvd disk?

yes,I've just done my first movie using this guide and it works 100%
