hi,

i had my ps2 chipped with one of the magic's (not sure which one), but since it was installed i have had nothing but trouble. I have been back to see the guy who installed it and he says he will replace it with his new chips when he gets them.

The thing is he says the new chips are called Judas, i have not heard of these before. Are they a clone of something, can someone please tell me if they are ok to use or am i better of telling him i need something else.

Thanks for your advice.

Judas chip is also known as 'Bluechip' and is a no-swap mod designed specifically for version 7 PS2.

U be better off getting a Messiah 2 fitted as this is the best trusted most tried and tested no swap mod for ps2.

Tell him to put in a Messiah 2. That's what you should have got in the first place.;)

As you can see asriel, peeps have nothing but praise for the Judas! pmsl

Out of interest, what were the probs you were having?

some of the problems i have been having are :

1. ps1 backups not working

2. ps2 games would freeze during play for no apparent reason at any point

3. When watching a dvd film it would jump, freeze and then get the green screen (the macrovision protection)

When these happen if the ps2 is reset then the game/film would play on past the original point of stopping and maybe freeze somewhere else.

Has this fault been seen before or could it be a fault of the chip / installer of the chip.

Did any of ur PSX back-ups work? If not, are you sure you used the correct boot sequence?

Which games froze?

The green screen issue is a new one on me, so I can't comment.
