I was wondering if anyone knows the differance between a no-cd patch and a fixed exe patch... i have a game tiger woods 2003 and there isnt a no-cd patch for it but there is a fixed exe and my problem is i dont know how to use it.
Thank you

This has been answered many times - you should read the "newbie" section on the GCW site
A fixed exe is one which has it's copy protection such as Safedisk or Securom taken away from it. There are usually some cd-checks left in the exe.
A NO-CD has the protection and the cd-checks taken away - sometimes you will have to copy content from the cd to the hard drive, and you may need to use a registry fix.
Sometimes a fixed exe is basically a no-cd crack and all that needs done is the above - copy key elements from the cd to the hard drive and/or a registry fix.

@ deveon100 read the newbie section m8 and im sure it will have "what and how to do it explained" :D
In fact here at gamecopyworld will tell you how to do a fixed exe. when you D/L a nocd crack it tells you what to do so just D/L another fixed exe for anygame and read what you have to do with it

Judging by your posts, you need this (http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43641).

Sorry if it seems that way but trust me nobody is treating you like crap here. Now, I take it you've read all the stickies ? And that the file gets decompressed without errors (see my link in the previous post, I wasn't trying anything funny, this is a very common problem) ? Have you put the file in the right directory ? If it's a patch (and it sounds like it), you have to put it in the same directory as the game executable and run it once to patch that executable. What exact error messages do you get ? What was the exact name of the crack and where did you get it (gamecopyworld or other site) ?

I have used no-cd patches in the past and uasly i just copy the patch into the game directory to replace the exe file....well after u install this game it does not put an exe file in the directory. why i dont know. And im sorry for saying those things i just thought differantly hehe.
I really dont know what to do next, I'm lost tell you the truth.

Could you please provide a direct link to that crack ? I'd like to take a look at it myself....
Edit : I don't have TW2003 myself, but I know of certain games that put the executable in a subdirectory of the main game directory.... have you tried looking in the subdirectories ?

I have never heard of games putting the exe in the sub directory before (i must just have games that put it in the gamedirectory) however this is a usefull bit of info for future reference.

All unreal/unreal tournament engine games (like harry potter 1 & 2) do this....
