Do I need to put in a mod chip to play backup PS2 games? What is the better chips to install and where can I purchase it?

Yes you need a mod chip. The best chip is by far is the Messiah 2. Send charlie_ps2 or dust2dust an email and they can hook you up with the chip.

Bill can do the install BUT he doesn't supply ANY of the Direct Boot chips such as the Magic 3 or the Messiah 2...
