Problem with the PS2 DIVX player. please HELP!!

I downloaded the PS2REALITY player and followed the instructions for making a CD.

I generated the ISO with the CDGENPS2 with alll the files you need and AVI files.

i burned the iso with CDRWIN CDROM-XA MODE2 but the cd didnt work.

i have a messiah mod.

I used Nero but all I do is copy the three needed files and the .avi and burn it with the settings suggested. I don't bother with the cdgenps2. It seems to work fine without that program. The 3 needed files are CDVD.IRX, MPLAYER.ELF, SYSYEM, and then the AVI.

orion, you think i could use a dvd and place many avi files into one disc? and view it?

I was hoping the same thing too...:-( But I can't figure out how to write in mode 2 in Nero with DVD. Somebody help me out if this is possible. Everytime I try, mode 2 is greyed out, and my ps2 won't read the disc unless it is written in mode 2. Agreeing with you I would love multiple movies on one dvd disc.

Just tried the link and it's not working sorry about that.

This does work.

Using GOOGLE do a search for PS2 REALITY PLAYER.

When the search is complete you'll see the link to FACTORNEWS
which you will have to translate from FRENCH (use the translate button at the side).

You will see the player download icon very near the top.
I've tried it and the player works.

can i burn it onto a cd-r? and can i play cd-r avi. files?(does it allow you to switch discs at the menu)?

i am unable to download it bacause when i click on the link "to download media player " it goes to another screen that is all letters! any other ideas?

Thats weird i've just gone back to the site and clicked on the download button and it worked straight away.

I'll see if i can find another download site.

If it doesn,t work then do a search for ps2 reality player using GOOGLE i think it's the 4th one down the list

When you get in the download button is near the top in light blue lettering.


Also check out METAGAMES there's a tutorial on the best settings
to use concerning compatable codec's etc.



If you still can't get the files i'll email them like you said it's a 590kb rar file

Is it possible to put this on a dvd-r. I have had great success with putting it on cd-r but I would like to put more avi's on a disc. Thanks.

Yeh,
it would be great, the word is it won't be long before it can be done.
There's a lot of interrest being shown.

I'm in the middle of converting avi's / xvids to dvd's and i've a load
to do so i've only been looking and browsing sort of part time.

I'm going to spend a bit more time on this topic and if i find anything i'll definately let you know.

i found out alot of stuff! everything except how to generate the iso image!!!!!!

1./ Use the link i supplied earlier.

2./ Click on NEWS at the top.

3./ Look under the thread PS2 MEDIA PLAYER. (About the 8th down.)

4./ Schroll through to page 6.

5./ Look at the 14th post by GaMeZ.


You will see all the things you have to do what settings to use
and you will notice that you need to make a bin and cue file instead of an iso.


Most of the problems and queries about the program have been covered there as there on to the 12th page of the original thread.

You just have to start at page 1 and look through.

ok i was able to get the bin/cue files but when i try to burn with nero it doesn't work! i have made about 6 coasters from tryin to burn the media player!

any ideas on how to burn the cue. file?

Okay, Burning the bin and cue files don't work for me either. All that I do is put the files in the iso compilation and hit burn. The files are MPLAYER.ELF, CDVD.IRX, SYSTEM and the avi movie file. The movie can be in a directory if you want. As far as the settings for nero this is what I use.
File/Directory name length: ISO Level 2 (Max 31 characters)
Format: Mode 2/ XA
Character Set: ISO 9660
Also Joliet checked. I have got this to successfully work on cd-r's but not DVD'RS. Hope this helps.

i think it is 5.5.8.0 or 5.5.9.0!!!!!

They have 5.5.10.0 now but you should still have those settings with your version of Nero.

it never come to a screen that and can select any setings! it just goes straight to burning! inless i do it wrong !

Choose cd, compile a new cd, data cd, create a new data cd, finish. Then choose FILE and COMPILATION INFO. You can change settings there.

Don't use the wizard that they supply. From the file menu select New... Then make sure that you select cd-rom (iso) on the left hand side of the compilation window, and then click the iso tab. This is where you select the settings. Then click new on the right hand side. When you drag the required files I mentioned above, and the avi movie go to the file menu and choose write cd. Then hit burn and you should have produced a working disc. Hope this helps.

The method bighap explained works too if you must use the wizard. It's too user friendly for me. (reminds me of aol!)

ok i got my mediaPlayer to work, but that is all i put on the cd. i have jackass on a cd so how would i make it an avi that the media player would play?

Also how do u not use the wisard on Nero?

Nerver mind about the wisard thing with nero i figured it out!

Take the jackass file off the cd and put it on your hard drive. Then add the divx file to the burn process.

The movie file. It should be an avi file.

i cant find any movie file it has some files but they are all vcd.!!!!!
i can only play it on my pute dvd player!

i still need to find a place to download the divx files from, but after i do that do i burn it to a cd-r the same way i did with the file, do i have to use cdgen?
