u will need
1MESSIAH 2/ MAGIC 3.1 MODCHIP (Contact Charlie or dust2dust)
2DVD WRITER (Preferablly Pioneer a04/a05
3PRASSI PRIMO AND CLONECD AND DISCJUGGLER 3.0 OR HIGHER
4GAMES ORIGIONALS OR BACKUPS
5PATIENCE NOT VERY EASY
K LETS GET STARTED
OK First of all ur new so ask dust or charlie how much they will mod ur pS2 for as u will probably break it,
lets just say ur ps2 is now chipped with Messiah 2 chip
best chip out...no need for gameshark or ar2
k u wanna copy games obviously so first of all look on the back of games if it has a DVD Logo u need a dvd writer useually 220 quid
ok uve gota DVD writer so insert ur DVD Game into ur DVD Writer and start Prassi ok copy disc option this usually takes 50 mins on 1X No FASTER or ull get bad burns ok
then write back to disc using Prassi again at 1X done
if the game is A Cd then open discjuggler CD to image
and copy should take a bout 3 mins
then write straight back to disc easy as pie
if its a Backup use prassi for dvd's and clonecd for CDR's
sorted so to start ur looking at over 500 quid as dvd disks are 100 pound each sometimes cheaper oh yes use Traxdata Discs there the best
c u l8er hope i could help im off down the pub;)

Do i have to have a dvd burner??
Also how much is the messiah, and installation- im in the usa too- is it easy to find someone here to do it??
No you DON'T have to have a dvd burner BUT I HIGHLY rec. getting one.... About 80-90% of all the newer games are on dvd... You can try to rip the games If you want to go through that much trouble, BUT be warned...... NOT ALL games are able to rip... Such as Grand Theft Auto Vice City......
Also.... Regardless if the game you are backing up is a cd original or a cd-r backup you should ALWAYS USE CLONE CD....
Also.... Primo is a great program, BUT it is outdated.... You should use RecordNow Max for ALL your dvd based games (That is if you have a dvd burner)....
The Messiah 2 is $58.00 (US funds)
The install in your V7 PS2 will cost around $60-80 dollars....
Send your PS2 along with the chip to Bill @ Freedomlives.com (http://www.freedomlives.com) ....
He is top notch....
Purchase the Messiah 2 from Charlie_PS2 or Dust2Dust through this forum.... They are both Top Notch....
As far as burning speed....
bl0kedownthepub has given you the basic standard..... The 1X speed for DVD burning is great BUT it takes forever...... Don't get me wrong, most of the time, this is the speed that you should use..... BUT if you have a 4X capable burner, and good 4X media, you can burn at 4X no problem..... I do it all the time.....
There is a tutorial for RecordNow Max at the top of this forum.... Clone CD is VERY EASY.....You can find the tutorial for it HERE!!!!! (http://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk/CloneCD_Tutorial.htm)
Good luck... And post again if you have anymore questions....
Also.... If you are considering ANY other mod chip other than the Messiah 2.... You should check out my website FIRST, and take a look at the boot procedures BEFORE deciding... There are some mod chips that have a VERY LONG LIST of things you have to do BEFORE you can ever start to play the game....
You can find my boot procedures post on my homepage HERE!!!!!!!!!!! (http://hometown.aol.com/makave2345/BGsHomePage.html)
Have fun and ENJOY!:)

Thank you so much- you made things a lot clearer- a lot of expense, but it sound like it might be worth it in the long run- how much are dvd burners these days??
You can get them anywhere from $190 on up to $320......
Just depends on what you want and how much you want to spend.....

the most common and most reliable is pioneer a05/a04
220 quid might be 275 dollars bout that anyway
