Controllers Wont Work

Put a cheapmod into Version 1 xbox, This is the fourth one i`ve done, Three worked fine one dont work. problem is that the controllers wont work??? checked and double checked all cabels are plugged in, and there are no burnt out components on the controller daughter board. Anyone got any ideas please.

Did you scratch any of the cables or remotely tear them? This was a problem with the dreamcast, maybe the xbox is simular.

Had a good look at the board, no scratches evident. i know the controller board is ok, i tried it in another v1 xbox and it worked fine. I'm just wondering if there is a fuse soldered into the motherboard which might have blown, i've heard this can happen on ps2 so maybe it can happen on the xbox!!
