Hi I have recently just purchased a no solder for my version 4 ps2, I have burned a few backups and they have worked fine. There are about 20 though that just won't boot. I am using Swap Magic, I tried GameShark v2 , but still could not boot the discs I was wanting to, and I was wondering if it was the file sizes?

The largest backup I made (using Verbatim CD-R) was roughly around 737mb, and it worked fine, now i can't burn and run backups that are over 760mb, could this be the mod chip? And yes I know how to burn correctly, I have read all the FAQs and tutorials, I know how. Any suggestions would be great.

What program are you using to burn ? Clone cd ? Nero ?

I use Clone CD, and have made 700mb+ back-ups with no problems.

Also, keep in mind that some games have copy protection code on them, like EA games. For those, you'll have to apply a patch to the image before buring it.

(You may already know all of this, but I figured I'd throw it out there.)

I am using nero, and yes I know about the patches, and there are none for the backups i'm making.

Give Clone CD a try. And burn at 4x.

If that doesn't work, then I'm all out of ideas.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try that and see where I get with it, but I have used plenty of burning tools and have either burned at 1x or 8x, so maybe that will work.
