Issues with THPS4 (PAL)

I have just bought Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 for PSX. I am trying to make a backup copy but to no avail.

Chipped PSx, many other backup gamers work, and I haven't changed burners etc.

Basically I can burn fine, no errors reported, but booting the game is a no go. The PSX goes straight into the mem card screen.

I have tried CDRWin, Nero and CloneCD, I have never really had a problem with any backups before (apart from lack of knowledge).

Is anyone able to spread some light on this subject?? Is it just an unburnable game? I guess I don't mind if it is I can still use the original, but with little sisters running around the house I usually use backups.

Well I did get THPS4 to work using Alcohol 120%, but not properly. I am assuming that it is due to my media. I have burnt other games with it, but this is the only game that uses most of the space on the cd.

Even though I have gotten it to work it still boots extremely slowly, even on my PC it takes ages to read, so I am putting it down to media.
