I have a ver. 4 PS2 with a Neo 2.2 mod chip installed.
If I buy the Pioneer A04or A04 DVD recorder and copy PS2 DVD games will they play on my console? I plan on using Primo or RecordNow Max for burning. What type of media should I buy?
DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RAW, DVD-RW?
sure i have a v4 with neo 2.2 but u will need ar2 v1.90 or 1.93 to boot it or a gs but dont know what version they have to be look at the sticky on top of forum for boot instructions as for what media i use traxdata , verbatim , apple and had 100% success with them but also tried cheaper ones like mirror and princo which also work but with me had some trouble on certain games with the cheaper brand i use primo with the update for all my burning hope this helps scamper sorry for got to add with the pioneer u will only be able to use dvd-r dvd-rw disc's and the dvd-r disc's is the way to go

you prob got one of the first gs2 that came out cause that date is old u rpob need to buy u a new one there around 40$ at walmart like a ver 2.1 or ver 2
can you boot dvd-r games with the new version's of gs All4TheInfo ? on a ne0 2.2, at the sticky's it says v 1.99 or earlyer but i don't know with gs all i know about is ar2 that they have to be v1.90 or 1.93 so if you have an earlyer one FantomLord you should be ok so dont go out and buy a new one as i dont think they will work like the ar2 but like i said im not sure about gs only ar2

I already downloaded some PS2 DVD games that were ripped and burnt to CD's if that answers your question. I guess I'll test it when my DVD Recorder comes in.

Look on the underneath of the disk(blue side) and the version number is printed on the rim on the inside of the disk
