ok, it is possible to play divx on ps2 without a modchip
but it is not possible to boot from the cd-rom

you can use the ps2reality mediaplayer to copy your movies to cd-r and boot using a modchip

(or there is the knife trick ...:( ( R.I.P PS2 2003 )
