anyone know why my Pioneer A05 wont read DVD+R blanks.
They are Verbatim. I tried them with Recordnow Max and DVDXCOPY. What is the difference between + and -
Because the A05 is a -R/-RW burner..... The +R/+RW format is entirely different....
They say that +R will be the future DVD. But in fact, DVD-R is more compatible.
My bad. Didn't mean to attach the file!
No problem.... Just edit the post instead of posting again....

-R was the standard adopted by the "dvd coalition",
the +r format is some bastardization thought up by sony, hp, and such in an effort to confuse the consumers and make some dough. These companies have a big foot in the door at mass merchant retailers and chain stores. They claim the +r format is more reliable, I have not seen any proof to support this.
Sheez, even where I get my media at a local store (www.pcclub.com), a spool of 50 -R media is $39.99USD, while the same spool of +R medit is $99.99USD. :p
