If it doesn't play and you donwloaded the files from someone else. Chances are that they have bean removed to make the game smaller for easier download.

The intro is a movie file (generally, movie files have both visual and audio rolled into 1 big file). The only way to rip the sound from it is to completely remove it. And If you haven't noticed, if there is a game that is ripped and there is anything that could be saved, it is ussually the intro. Or at least the intro was saved in every ripped game i've d/led.
Like I said before. Many people remove the sound files even in dvd releases. It may suck, but it makes the game much smaller to download

I own that game and the total is about 1.5 gig as well. So you right, your game wasn't ripped. Maybe you need a patched file or someone tried to patch it, but failed.

My guess is that someone messed with th iso file before your downloaded it. You should get a different release.
