I'm getting my PS2 modded soon. Im not sure what modchip yet. I have a v7 board. I am wondering what is the best DVD-R media to use? I also heard that if you use some cheap media that your PS2 laser could be messed up? Im not sure about all this. If someone could help me out that would be great.;)

They won't mess up your laser, you just won't be able to play the game correctly or at all. The ps2 is very picky when it comes to media. If you are in the US then Verbatim, TDK, and certain Ritek are the best choices. If you are in the UK then go with Traxdata.

do you say this because Traxdata is more readily available in the UK, and TDK/Ritek is more readily available in the US.

Or is it because the PAL consoles read traxdata best, and NTSC consoles read TDK/Ritek's best

What would you say about an Australian (PAL) console modded with a messiah2?

The console it self doesn't matter. Traxdata works very well but unfortunatley you can't get them in the US, only the UK. They are well priced too. Ritek in the US are the least expensive option and from what I have heard work great. You can't go wrong with Verbatim or TDK but they cost more than others.
