You think people are over charging for modchips. Well it takes about 1-2 hours to install. The solder points are also very difficult to install. If they mess up and have a solder bridge and start up the PS2 the PS2 motherboard could be fired. They would have to pay for a whole new PS2. Thats around $200. They are only covering for themselves just to make sure the PS2 doesnt get fried. Well now why dont you just try doing it yourself. All you need is a .10mm soldering iron tip and percision soldering. If you have seen the distance between some of the solder points you would notice they are less than a hair's length width. Thats only about 30 dollars an hour. If you would notice that people who are professionaly in the field get paid that or more for soldering. I know my mom used to do it.

By charging $10-$30 the installer would be getting royaly screwed. It takes alot of work like gandalf said. Try the install yourself and see if YOU would charge somebody $10 to install a chip for them.

Wow I cant beleive that. Would you want to take someone your car and whish to pay them 20 dollars to like do a timing belt job? I know Myself I would laugh at you tell you to hit the road. When you pay someone 100 or whatever to do the install CONSIDER THAT INSURANCE THAT HE WONT F UP YOUR PS2. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. It takes me about 2hrs to do a install sometimes longer if I have little troubles. But I cut my friends slack.

You cheapskate you.

If you were an installer, what would you charge for 2 hours work? Plus unpacking, packing, unscrewing, screwing?
