try checking here (http://www.stompinc.com/cgi-bin/test/compat.pl?rnmax) to see if your DVD writer is compatible with PrimoDVD/RecordNow Max

Ummmm, you could try ISO Buster or Padus Disc Juggler 4 or at a push DVDDecrypter but in all cases make sure that when you burn. your ISO mode is either Mode2/XA or mode2/2353 otherwise you'll get a gash DVD. I'm not sure if any of these are compatible with your drive though.

You should also be able to get Nero to burn dvd's no problem. Ditch Nero express and Nero wizard. Make an ISO9660 compatible image using level 1 character set in Mode2/XA with joliet disabled and no ISO9660 relaxations checked. Then burn it back to a blank and you should have no probs. Another alternative is InstantCD/DVD from VOB software. This is dead easy to use and never created a single coaster for me. You do have to be careful about what other back-up software you have installed when using it though.

Let us know how you get on.
