Hi,

I installed a no solder mod chip into a version 7, and I have been having trouble using swap magic version 2. First, it doesn't boot up all the time, maybe 1 in 20 times. When it finally gets to the insert disk screen, I press the eject button until the light turns orange, but the tray doesn't open right away. If I keep holding for like 5 minutes while it's making these horrible high pitched noises it finally opens. Then I put in the backup and the tray and it won't close on its' own like it supposed to. I pushed the button to get the game in, but it didn't play. Can anyone help? Is there a different routine for version 7 consoles? Or is swap magic no good? Thanks.

The swap magic discs have been having numerous problems.... You may want to consider getting a direct boot chip... Alot less hassle....

Hi dude,
I have a version 7 with no solder mod in and am using the swap magic 2 disks

Ok, First thing first, if you are having problems with the swap magic 2 disks loading and you know it isn't a dirty lens problem, then send the disks back to supplier for another set. The manufacturing of the swap magic 2 cds is very difficult as you may tell by looking on the underneath. They are basically dvdregion x discs that have the software PRESSED over the top. (thus making it bootable)

With the no solder mod, have you made sure that BOTH cables are pushed into the mod securly, and that the mod is pushed into the drive as far as possible?

If both of these are ok then It looks like you either 1) have a no solder for a version 4 or 2) have a no solder for version 5/6 that hasn't been updated to support the version 7.

Try the above is all i can suggest.
Let me know how you get on
