I got the no soder mod for my brothers v5 ps2 and installed it and it works. Works pretty good actually except for the fact that it can't play any file over 640MB which sucks but you can use dvd disks too. Just curious because my buddy has a dvd burner so I was going to get the Verbatim DVD+R disks and just do a clone cd and burn it to the dvd disk of a game that I already own. Will it play those just fine with the no solder mod for the v5?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Another dumb question because I mess with my XBOX I haven't really been able to read up much on ps2 dvd copying but can I just do a direct CD Copy of a DVD game to a DVD disk correct? If not please direct me to a tutorial for this.
For a v5 it shouldn't be a problem. Make sure your boot disc has a larger TOC than the game you are booting. You can not use CloneCD for dvds. CloneCD only supports cdr. They are working on a CloneDVD program. For cd based PS2 games(blue backs) use CloneCD, for dvd games use RecordNow Max or PrimoDVD. Nero also works but it can have some problems with some games. You can read the tutorials for the above programs here (http://www.psxcopyworld.co.uk/Tutorials.htm)

What about Verbatim DVD-R disks will they play just fine on the v5 ps2 I have. What about the Memorex disks? Will they work just as well because I can get a better deal on them at my local Best Buy. Please let me know!!!
Yep, dvd-r will work. Verbatim is the best you can get but it costs more than others. Memorex isn't nearly as good as Verbatim but it works for some people. Give them a try. You might just find a cheap alternative to Verbatim.
