Is ps-2 100000 ok to buy

I can buy old ps-2 from a friend, but it is the 1 ver. will i be able to install the messiah 2 chip ok . and will i have to use dvd-r back up to be able to play??

with the v1
you will need to get a new laser alignment because v1 and 2 Laser are not the same as the newer Versions. SO if you want a Messiah2 and have a V1 contact Bill@
