Magic 3

i have a magic 3 installed in my v7 ps2. none of my ps2 backups work(i think it is the media i am using(Memorex)) i had a chip in my ps1 and the ps1 backups i made worked!

now my question " If ps1 backups work on a ps2 then will ps2 backups work"?

I have backed up a couple of games on memorex and they work for me, I also have a v7 and magic3 installed, also sony and verbatim brands have worked for me fine.
